Governor Ortom wants his picture in every school in Benue state

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has directed the educational institutions in the state to hoist the national flag in their premises as well as the portrait himself.

He also directed that the portrait of President Muhammadu Buhari be displayed in all schools across the state.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on education, Matthew Mnyam, Ortom explained that his and the president’s portraits alongside the Nigerian flag are symbols of authority.

The Governor charged private polytechnics in the state to adequately equip their laboratories and studios with state of the arts equipment and facilities in order to teach the students practical skills as the essence of a polytechnic was to prepare students to be self reliant after graduation.

He directed the management of tertiary institutions to own a school farm in a bid to diversify the economy in line with the policy of the present administration.

He also commended the institutions that had already taken positive steps in the direction.

Failure to follow these directives, according to the governor would attract severe sanctions.
