“I know what they want is money” – Gov. Ajimobi embarrassed some journalists today

Some journalists were belittled in a condescending manner by Governor Abiola Ajimobi, today, June 24, at the National Secretariat of All Progressives Congress.

According to Vanguard’s report, the incident occurred after a private meeting between some APC governors and National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

The governors, which include Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Bello (Niger), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi)- had come for a meeting with Oyegun after previously meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

After the meeting with Oyegun, journalists asked the Oyo state governor about what they discussed about, but he was not in the mood to respond to them.

He reportedly asked the journalists for the names of the media houses they represent and proceeded to shout: “I don’t know any of these media houses. So, I can’t talk.”

The governor was quoted to have added: “I know what they want is money. Call me one of my aides to find something for them. I don’t have time for any comment.”

According to the report, most of the media represented there are well known outfits.

They include; Thisday, Telegraph, Vision FM, Leadership, Blueprint, Newsdairy, Lagos Television station, Galaxy TV, The Tide, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, and others.
