Generator importers will soon be out of business – Power Min., Chinedu Nebo

by Isi Esene

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo has declared that the business of importing and selling power generators will end soon.

He said this at the Public Affairs Forum (PAF) on Thursday, October 30, in Abuja while reacting to questions from a member of the audience who observed that there is a preponderance of businessmen importing generators into the country despite a reported increase in the country’s power generating capacity.

“It’s not going to be long,” he said. “Those of who are importing and selling generators will be out of business,” he assured.

Nebo said his prediction will come true as his ministry is working hard to ensure that power generation importation becomes a thing of the past.

The forum tagged, The Jonathan Administration – 4 Impactful Years, is organised by the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs.

Other ministers who made their presentations at the forum include the Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka and Water Resources Minister, Sarah Ochekpe.
