Funmi Iyanda returns to take her crown as the queen of talk

Funmi Iyanda

We are in truly uncertain times and looking for the familiar and the comforting to help us make sense of the way the world has changed in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Is there anyone more familiar and more comforting that the undisputed queen of talk in Nigeria, Funmi Iyanda?

After years away from day time talk, Funmi Iyanda is returning to screens, big and small, with a series of projects she has lined up for the year and beyond. She is not letting the Coronavirus slow down her plans either. She’s just announced a weekly virtual talk show in partnership with Public Eye Ng where she’ll sit down with the people with the answers about the pandemic and everything and engage them on our behalf. To understand how influential Ms. Iyanda is to media space, you only need to look at her ground breaking work with Funmi Iyanda’s NEW DAWN,  a show that was revolutionary for its time and tackled many social issues that we only starting to engage nearly two decades later. Funmi Iyanda’s scope of knowledge, her empathy for her guests and the issues they champion and her ability to find middle ground on any topic has endeared her to three generations of Nigerians.

With forays into film with 2019’s ‘Walking With Shadows’ and other projects underway, Public Eye NG is a reintroduction into a whole universe of content from Ms. Iyanda.

She’s already had her first episode on April the 24th on Instagram Live and will continue on the 29th. This is not a drill ladies and gents, Funmi Iyanda is back on our screens and in our lives and hopefully, this time for good.
