Four surveyors lost their lives on Wednesday in Ekiti state after drowning in a river.
The surveyors who came to the state for an inspection drowned after the boat they were sailing in capsized in the Egbe river.
The victims were part of a seven-man survey team from the Development Dams and Irrigation Scheme in Kaduna state.
According to eyewitnesses the incident happened at about 5:30pm.
Local fishermen, the police and men of the fire brigade were on hand to help recover the bodies of the victims.
