Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Aliyu Modibbo has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP).
Modibbo joined the APC over the weekend at the party’s office in his ward in Kumo West of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
He served as Minister of State, Power and Steel as well as Minister of Commerce during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was appointed Minister of FCT by Late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Speaking during his defection he said joining the APC was the first time he personally became a member of a political party.
He said, “This is the first time I am personally joining a political party, even though I served as minister three times under the PDP administration. All the appointments were based on merit.”
