[The Film Blog]: These guys captured the beauty of the music in Banana Island Ghost

They totally capture how we feel about the music. We came out of the cinemas looking for everything. Even Reekado Bank’s ‘Problem’ got new swag!

Sugarboy always scores well with ‘Jofunmi’.

Other songs that struck:

Empty by Cobhams (as performed by Chigul)

By my standards, a song used in a movie reaches its peak of success if I leave the cinema looking to add it to my music library. I had heard Empty before but when I saw Chigul perform it in the movie, it didn’t only make me bawl at the premiere but I left beating myself up for having not paid more attention to the song. The track does itself all justice by helping the movie reach its perfect catharsis (at least for me).

Big Boy- Eldee Tha Don

It is only right that a movie with its acronym as B.I.G. uses a song titled Big boy as one of its soundtracks lol. Besides the BIG similarity, Eldee’s 2008 was aptly used to depict an exquisite and luxurious ambience in one of the scenes of the movie.

And then there is the song at the end that we could have sworn was either Tonye Garrick or Victoria Kimani, but we can’t find! If you know it, holla at us on the comment section.

Bottom line: Enyi Omeruah – Chigurl’s brother, Cobham’s collaborator and co-associate producer of this film – really scored big (!) in this one.
