[The Film Blog] Are they ever going to do something with B430 before we all turn 30?

In 2015, the Nigerian media and film space got a tease. Nemsia Studios promised a series that would shed light on and start a conversation around the issues the average single Nigerian woman faces daily in her quest to become a wife – Before 30 (a.k.a B430)

And if you have any remote understanding of the pressures a Nigerian woman faces to become a wife “before her biological time runs out” then you must understand how exciting the idea of the this show was at the time. But only by half.

Not only did this show, directed by Bodunrin ‘BB’ Sasore, promise to be an important conversation starter, it also stars industry sweet hearts, Damilola Adegbite and O.C Ukeje in the lead while people like Beverly Naya and Anee Icha (Ndani’s Rumour Has It) play supporting roles. So, it was completely promising.

And it did deliver when the show premiered March 29th 2015 for the first season. It was as engaging as one can only expect considering the internet hype that preceded it. It scored high in terms of theme music too which were all relatable and catchy (they used songs like Temi DollFace‘s Pata Pata) and the acting was convincing.

But that’s where it  stopped. Literally. They just stopped showing.

The last time anything was uploaded on the “B430” YouTube page was January 2016 and it didn’t promise anything about the future of the show.

And when concerned fans like us asked, this is what they (we) got:

But the problem is we’ll be thirty soon and we haven’t even learnt anything this show promised.
