NIN: FG insist on Wednesday deadline, registration of foreign diplomats
The federal government has stated that the national identity number (NIN) is compulsory for diplomats who will be in the country for more than two years – The Cable reports
Femi Adeluyi, the technical assistant to Isa Pantami, minister of communications and digital economy, in a statement on Sunday 17 January 2021, said an enrollment centre will be set up at the ministry of foreign affairs.
The FG also insisted that the deadlines given for the registration of all Subscriber Identification Modules, SIM, with valid National Identity Numbers were still in force.

National Assembly asked to stop Buhari govt from selling national assets
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has urged the Senate and Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to stop President Buhari from selling public properties to fund the 2021 budget – Daily Post reports
Instead of selling the properties, SERAP tasked the government to cut salaries and allowances of top officials to address the growing level of deficit and borrowing.
