Barely 15 months into his much celebrated presidency, some key supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari have turned coat to apologise for ‘misleading’ the populace into voting for him.
Feyi Fawehinmi, in an article reproduced HERE declared that he was fed up with the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government even as he compared President Buhari’s leadership style to Venezuela’s Maduro’s – which eventually grounded the country into a failed structure on the brink of an ‘implosion.’
While Feyi’s admission of the failure of the Buhari-led government is a wholesome indictment of the leadership style of the president, he is not the only supporter who appears fed up in recent times.
Before Feyi was the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), Gbenga Sesan. See tweets expressing somewhat similar sentiments below.
[ I'm one of those who still think Buhari will pull an Ambode on us all. It should come sooner though. ]

The gap between what is and what must be –very soon, at that — is so wide it makes no sense to be hopeful. Plus, hope is not a strategy.

You can almost cut through the disappointment with a knife. Good, though, that sycophancy isn't even an option.
