Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has set up a panel to probe the former governor, Kayode Fayemi, who is the current minister of solid minerals and development.
According to The Cable, the panel, headed by Bamidele Oyewole, a retired high court judge, was inaugurated in Ado Ekiti at 10am on Monday, was given three months to submit its report.
The panel will investigate “financial transactions of Ekiti state between 2010 and 2014,” in an attempt to discover how funds received from the federal government and loans were spent, and in particular how much the state received for its Universal Basic Education efforts, and how the Fayemi government spent the money.
This is not the first the two powerful personalities have faced off; in February, Fayemi sued Fayose’s aide for libel, and Fayose went after Fayemi’s sister’s home.
According to The Cable, the members of the panel are:
Silas Bamidele Oyewole – Chairman.
