We’re lost!
Humans, all of us, are lost in our jobs, mobile devices, paper chase etc that we forget to pay attention. We forget to take note of all those details that come together to make up our existence.
But this photographer comes to the rescue. Bolaji Alonge has dedicated the last five years of his life to taking photos of all the elements of the world that we’ve become accustomed to missing out on, since we stopped paying attention; and over fifty thousand photos to prove this.
At a photo exhibition that starts on 20th May, Alonge will be showcasing 25 of his best works. His documentation of the places he’s been starting from home here in Nigeria to Western Europe, the Middle East, India, Russia and the rest of the world – will be showcased to attendees.
Through “The Eyes of a Lagos Boy“, the spirit of the adventurer and wanderlust in Nigerians and humanity will be invoked and those that have not, do not or cannot travel and take photos for whichever reason, will certainly be encouraged.
The photo exhibition is in conjunction with the prestigious Freedom Park, Broad Street (A former Colonial Prison situated in the heart of Lagos Island turned into a major Artists hub with great international audience in an ideal environment) mainly to bring to the Nigerian public the beauty in Nigeria and around the world.
Eyes of a Lagos Boy will run from the 20th through till 27th May at the Museum, Freedom Park, Lagos and photos will be available for sale to attendees.
The Pan Africa Hash (a worldwide organization of runners) 2017 is being hosted by Lagos, between the 26th and 28th of May, prompting the influx of people from all around Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Eyes Of A Lagos Boy as one of the pre- Hash events opens potential sponsors to a direct global audience. Eyes of A Lagos Boy is the story of all of us, with a messenger in the person of Bolaji bringing it to our attention.
