Eye on Buhari: Meetings, awards and more

The week turned out quite well for President Muhammadu Buhari as he was recognized for his leadership skills, amongst other activities.

Here are the events that took place this past week by the President.

October 4

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun at the Presidential Villa, Abuja and from the looks of things below, they had quite some fun time.

October 5

President Buhari presided over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council, which held at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock Abuja and saw in attendance, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, some staff of the presidency and the ministers of the country.

October 6

President Buhari was one Thursday named Leadership Newspaper’s person of the year. He joins the likes of immediate past president Goodluck Jonathan, and immediate past chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega who were also named persons of the year for 2015.

At the event, Buhari said the magnanimity of former president Goodluck Jonathan was key in disappointing the “prophet of dooms” who predicted the disintegration of the country in 2015.

Later on, the President had a meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara at the Aso Rock, and which lasted for about an hour.

 

October 8

Buhari at the passing out parade on Saturday, addressed the 63 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) speaking on various national issues such as the war on terror, militancy in the Niger Delta, professionalism in the military, among others.

 

October 9

President Buhari announced that come Monday, he would hand over some aircraft in the Presidential fleet to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The handover ceremony is said to hold at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In the same breath, Buhari commended the South African Government, via a letter, for upholding the terrorism charges against Henry Okah.
