Ex-FCT minister, Bala Mohammed ‘unable to account for over N1.6trn’

Former Minster of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed who is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been unable to account for over N1.6 trillion, Premium Times reports.

Mohammed was arrested for alleged extensive land racketeering while he was minister.

A source in the EFCC said the former minister has been unable to account for N1.6 trillion in the sales of plots of land.

“After computation of the land deals that he struck, we discovered that more than N1.6 trillion could not be accounted for,” the source said.

Recall that the EFCC had obtained an order to detain Mohammed while it continues investigations.
