Everybody plots against APC – 7 important things you didn’t read yesterday (but should have)

by Kolapo Olapoju

1. The power of the powers-that-be.

Anyone planning to go on Silverbird Television to criticise President Jonathan should have a rethink.

Recently, Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo was on the TV station, and in the course of spewing unflattering words about the president, the programme was yanked off.

Silverbird has, however, blamed “technical hitches” for the incident.

2. Confident Jega believes INEC can’t be hacked.

With all due respect to the geeks at the technology department of INEC, anyone can be a victim of hacking.

The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, however, disagrees, saying he believes that the database of the electoral body cannot be hacked into by anybody.

“As far as I am concerned, our database cannot be hacked; if that happens, then someone on the inside must have compromised because we have in place checks and balances that if such happens, we will know who did it.”

3. $1,000 is nothing to TB Joshua.

If you are going to appreciate T.B Joshua for a job well done… try your damnedest to do better than $1,000.

In a new video, T.B Joshua refused a $1,000 offering, during his ministration in Colombia.

The clip, which was posted on Emmanuel TV’s channel on YouTube, shows an elderly lady, giving him money, after receiving prayers for a back problem.

4. Mbu, Behave yourself, will you?

AIG Joseph Mbu, has been warned – by the APC of course, to be of good behaviour as he moves to Lagos state…

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has implored Mbu to drop “his well-known excesses as he moves into Lagos for Lagos will ultimately prove his albatross should he come here for the purpose of enforcing the notorious interests of the PDP.

5. Everybody plots against APC.

Nowadays, the opposition party has formed a habit of alleging some plot or the other, whenever something works against its favour.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the National Communications Commission, NCC, over its directive to service providers to stop running political/advertisement promotions, saying the commission intends to prevent the party from legitimately raising funds to finance its campaign.

“There seems to be an orchestrated plot to prevent us, the All Progressives Congress, APC, from using the new platforms of SMS, Ringtones and Scratch Card to raise funds for our electioneering campaign.”

6. Vote GEJ, he will give you freedom.

Fellow Nigerians, if you vote for President Goodluck Jonathan, he will give make sure you continue to enjoy freedom… which you’ve always had.

President Goodluck Jonathan made a promise, saying: “Democracy is all about freedom and any democracy without it is not democracy.”

7. Nigeria, Ghana and the breached $10 million contract.

In case you didn’t know, Ghana has received a huge sum from the federal government.

Nigeria has paid $10 million to Ghana for breaching a contract, to supply gas to the country.

Nigeria was expected to supply at least 120 million cubic feet of gas daily to power some of Ghana’s plants but the OPEC giant has consistently failed to come up with its end of the bargain.
