Entertainment Roundup: Kanye West dumps Jay-Z’s Tidal and is unmoved by his 4.44 diss; Omawumi’s Timeless album is out | More stories

Here are the biggest stories from the weekend and others that unraveled while you slept – and are buzzing this Monday morning.

Kanye West walks out on Tidal

Rapper Kanye West has said goodbye to Jay-Z’s music streaming company, Tidal over claims the company owes him more than $3 million.

TMZ reports that Kanye’s issues with Tidal is two-pronged. First, his The Life of Saint Pablo album helped Tidal gain 1.5 million new subscribers and was to get a bonus for this but nothing was paid and secondly, Tidal refused to pay reimbursement for his music videos.

According to TMZ’s sources, “a month ago Kanye’s lawyer sent a letter to Tidal, saying the company was in breach and the contract was terminated. Over the next 2 weeks lawyers for both sides tried to resolve the conflict but failed.”

Tidal is set to sue Kanye if he decides to join another streaming company. They say he has an exclusive contract with them.

And because Kanye doesn’t give in to threats, he says he will sue Tidal right back. Let the games begin!

Meanwhile…

Kanye was spotted leaving his Calabasas studio and he looks totally unfazed by Jay-Z’s diss for him in the new 4.44 album.

Jay rapped “I know people backstab you, I feel bad too / But this f*** everybody attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye / You gave him 20 million without thinkin’ / He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** was he thinkin’? / ‘F*** wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’ / But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane”.

Kanye rarely smiles but this look on his face maybe means he hasn’t heard Jay-Z’s song or he just doesn’t give a shit.
