Angelina Jolie gives first lecture at the London School of Economics

Hollywood actress, Angelina Jolie gave her first lecture as a visiting professor at the London School of Economics on Tuesday.

The 41 year old spoke to students at the Centre for Women, Peace and Security where she is to start teaching a Masters course in September.

Jolie lecture focused on women’s rights and the roles displacement plays in opening women and girl children up to sexual violence.

One of the excited LSE students said Jolie may be expected to come in weekly as her lecture holds once a week. The students also told E!News that “It was really amazing having her on campus. Her arrival has been anticipated but we started to think because of her personal situation she might have backed out of the role.

Olamide celebrates birthday with new video 

Rapper Olamide is a year older today and what better way to show love to fans than by releasing new visuals that reflects on his journey through life.

The track Journey of A Thousand Miles was produced by Pheelz and is off his sixth studio album Glory.

The newly released video is the third from the album and was shot in a location outside Nigeria by Moe Musa.

Mercy Johnson bags her first political appointment

Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Entertainment, Arts and Culture.

Johnson was named on Tuesday as one of the new appointees in the state and is to join 53 other Senior Special Assistants to the state’s governor, Yahaya Bello.

Actress Kemi Afolabi remains hospitalised following attack by thugs 

Yesterday, we reported the attack on Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi and her movie crew by area thugs while they filmed in Ikorodu, Lagos.

New reports have it that the actress is still in the hospital following the bleeding that emanated from the punches she received from the thugs.

According to Afolabi’s spokesperson, “One of the hoodlums hit her in the tommy and since then she’s been bleeding.”

The actress is reportedly expecting her second child.

Common temporarily lost his sight as a teenager so he’s creating awareness about blindness

American rapper and actor, Common is joining forces with new initiative, See America to put an end to preventable blindness through education, outreach and awareness in addition to product development.

The Oscar and Grammy award winner temporarily lost his sight in one eye when he was a teenager is now giving back using this initiative as a platform.

Common said, “Blindness was always something that was kind of scary to me…It seems like the simplest thing, but it’s also the most precious thing, to be able to see.

Research has it that 61 million Americans are at the risk of severe vision loss and every four minutes, one American will partially or completely lose their sight.
