Despite being sacked as Head Coach of the National team, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi remains upbeat about the prospects of his coaching career.
Shortly after being axed as the boss of the senior football team, Keshi spoke to NTA, and said, “Its about time for me to move on, my dear. This is not the end of the world for me”.

On Thursday, 16 October, the Nigerian Football Federation sacked Stephen Keshi as gaffer of the Super Eagles, despite his side’s home win against Sudan that kept them in the running to defend their African title.
The federation had released a statement to this effect stating that Keshi and his coaching staff had led Nigeria to glorious accomplishments in the last three years and also labelled him and his assistants as ‘true national heroes’.
“However, in the interest of Nigeria football and the desire to ensure qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals, the (executive) committee decided to relieve them of their duties with immediate effect,” the statement said.
After an emergency meeting, the NFF announced that former coach Shuaibu Amodu would take temporary charge before a foreign manager is appointed.
The Super Eagles are third in Group A in qualifying for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations after recording a draw and a win in the round of qualifying matches.
Meanwhile, the hosts of the 2015 AFCON, Morocco, has announced its withdrawal from hosting the tournament, citing the presence of the Ebola virus disease in West Africa, as the major reason for its decision.
