The 10 songs on this list are definitely not the best in terms of quality that 2013 had to offer but by Jove were they popular. From every speaker, evey house party and club DJ, they blared, sending us into sing along sessions and dancing fits with their similar messages. Who are we to resist?

We present the 10 most popular songs of the year. If the world ends on the 31st, these are the tunes we will go out dancing to. In ascending order

10) Touchin body- J Martins Ft, DJ Arafat

Arguably not as popular as the other songs on this list, J Martins comeback single was nevertheless a hit with the deejays ad record spinners. And we enjoy every 3minutes of it’s rotation.

9) Durosoke- Olamide

What to say about Olamide and ‘Durosoke’? We love both like we love our own. Defintely hard to resist the baddest guy ever liveth. Especially when he is on a roll like this.

8) Emi ni baller- Chidinma, Ill bliss, Tha suspect

Who here did not fall in love with Chidinma Ekile aka Miss Kedike plumbing her thuggish depths and threatening ‘’E kuro l’ono mo fe wa ija’’? While Tha Suspect and Oga boss did their stuff on the verses, this one was all Miss Kedike.

7) Pull over- Kcee Ft. Wizkid

You thought ‘Limpopo’ was ubiquitous, you must not have heard ‘Pull over’ then, the end of year break out from Kcee’s unbearable ‘Take over album’

6) Khona- Mafikizolo

Khona!….Khona!…..Khona! …

Because there are just no words to describe.

5) Eminado- Tiwa Savage Ft. Don Jazzy

2013 is the year Tiwa Savage became Mrs Balogun. It is also the year she gifted the world with her inescapable hit single ‘Eminado’. We have given up trying not to sing along whenever it comes on. And it comes on EVERYTIME!

4) Skelewu- Davido

Hail to the Omo baba olowo! He took a B-side single that made no sense and turned it into one of the year’s biggest hits with the whole country singing along. What does this say about us though?

3) Caro- Starboy ft.Wizkid, LAX

This year Wizkid proved that all he needs do is breathe on a track and it becomes a bonafide hit. With hits coming out left, right and center, Caro was his crown jewel. Plus her body necessary.

2) Sho lee- Sean Tizzle

We will probably be asking Sean who? Come next year but the fresh faced Davido look alike made pop music magic with D’tunes. Who cares who wrote the lyrics when we can have the melody?

1) Limpopo- Kcee

The dance is silly, the song sillier but it was the catchiest thing on radio all year. How could we resist?
