The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, clashed with operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), in a bid to arrest former heads of the two agencies.
What happened: The EFCC had invited Oke for questioning in connection with the $43 million found in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Oke’s wife, who has also been summoned, was identified as the owner of the apartment.
What is happening: According to reports, EFCC operatives were resisted by armed security agents of the two agencies when they stormed the homes of the former head of the NIA, Ayo Oke, and former head of the SSS, Ita Ekpeyong, respectively in Abuja – which has led to mayhem in the area.
