Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has alleged that agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have surrounded his house in Abuja.
The EFCC had earlier on Friday, invited Fani-Kayode to report at the agency’s Abuja office on Monday, May 9, for questioning.
The letter, which was signed by Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, was delivered to the former Minister in his Abuja home.
Fani-Kayode said in spite of responding to the invitation through his lawyers, the anti-graft agency intends to immediately detain him.
He wrote on his Facebook page that: “Today the EFCC invited me to to come their office on monday. I have their letter. I agreed to be there. Now they have surrounded my house.”
“The letter of invitation was served this morning and it was dated 6th May. They said I should report on the 9th. They can’t even wait because they want to detain me so badly and keep me away for the weekend. I never refused their invitation. Why all this? I leave them to God.”
