The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godwin Obaseki has taken an early lead in the Edo election over his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart Pastor Ize-Iyamu.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced results in nine Local Government Areas with the APC winning five, while the PDP won the remaining four.
The PDP won in Orhionmwon, Esan, Esan West, and Esan southeast while the APC won in Uhunwomnde, Owan West, Egor, Igueben, and Oredo.
The APC has a total vote of 142424 so far and the PDP has 136808, as the APC leads with 5616 votes.
