Pastor Ize-Iyamu

The Edo State Governorship election Tribunal has asked the Peoples Democratic Party and Young Democratic Party to serve their petitions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) by substituted service.

PDP governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the YDP governorship candidate, Nurudeen Inwanfero had approached the tribunal challenging the outcome of the election on September 28.

The tribunal is headed by Justice A. Badamasi, with Justices E.A. Ade Sodun, and Khadi Adamu Usman as members.

The tribunal had ordered INEC to allow PDP access to electoral materials used for the polls.

But PDP counsel, Kingsley Obamogie and YDP counsel, Ugo Nwofor on Wednesday in separate exparte motions, alleged that APC and Obaseki were evading service of court’s processes from the bailiff.

The tribunal chairman who granted their prayer to serve the respondents by substituted service, stating that it was in compliance with Section 47 of the Electoral Act 2010 ( as Amended).
