One of the nurses who made primary contact with Liberian, Patrick Sawyer is said to have escaped quarantine and gone to Enugu.

While there, the infected nurse made contact with at least 20 people who are now being watched.

The development was revealed today by the Information Minister, Labaran Maku.

This brings the total number of people being watched for the disease in Nigeria to 198,177 in Lagos and 21 in Enugu.

Sawyer came into the country with Ebola last month and was the first to die of the disease in Nigeria.
