AGF gave ex-convict FG contract, fired him and now DSS has arrested him

The owner of Public Alerts Security Systems, George Uboh has been arrested and detained by operatives of the Department of State Security for allegedly attempting to blackmail the Federal Government into giving him a contract to recover over N1.9 trillion stashed away in some of the banks in the country.

Uboh was initially given the contract by the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami after Uboh informed him that he had tracked down the said money through 13 banks.

Upon getting the contract however, according to reports, Uboh expanded his brief after receiving a letter of authority from the Federal Government and harrassed all the banks in the country, prominent Nigerians and industry players requesting them to turn in their secret bank details to him.

The AGF had terminated the contract given to Uboh in effect stating that it was given in error even after information had revealed that Uboh had been jailed by a court in the United States and recently in Abuja for fraud-related issues.

Successful completion of the contract would have fetched Uboh at least 5% of the recovered amount in profit and he was not going to take the termination lightly as he accused the AGF of standing in the way of fighting corruption.

Uboh had also appeared on a national television program shortly before his arrest to indict the Federal Government for terminating the contract prematurely while claiming to the world to be fighting corruption.

However, Uboh was picked up on Tuesday by men of the DSS who raided his office and house in Maitama, Abuja in search of sensitive documents.

The DSS would likely charge him to court for criminal offences bordering on the expansion of his contract brief to extort money from Nigerians.

Uboh, before his arrest had revealed that he had already traced N324 billion within the 27 days that he was allowed by the Government to do the said job.
