Down Syndrome Foundation commends donations, support to kids

President of Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, Mrs Rose Mordi has lauded Nutricima Nigeria Limited for its support and donation of milk products and learning materials to children of the Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria (DSFN).

Nutricima, maker of nutritious Nunu, Coast Milk, Yo yoghurt, Olympic milk among other dairy products,  last Friday 13th of December donated cartons of Nunu milk with educational items such as note books, pens and shirts to children suffering from Down Syndrome at DSFN, Lagos Chapter during the End of year party organised by the foundation.

According to Nutricima, donations of cartons of the nutritious Nunu milk as well as learning materials to the children would assist them in their education and mental development.

Commending the initiative, Mrs Rose Mordi said, “Only God deserves the glory and honour for the task being carried out by the foundation. And we especially want to thank all parents, donors and sponsors for all they have been doing to encourage us. We thank Nutricima for their support and encouragement always.”

While presenting the items to the children, the Head of Marketing, Nutricima, Wande Oluwasegunfunmi, said the donations made to the children was in furtherance of the company’s obligation to the management, staff and children of the reputable foundation.

“It is a mark of our long standing relationship. But beyond this is the commitment of both organisations to celebrate special set of individuals who have proven to the world that they are really not different from us all if given the needed support.

“At Nutricima Limited, we pride ourselves in our commitment to seeking put credible platforms through which we can live out our excellent values. We have successfully proven our mettle as a company that cares especially for the growing ones as exemplified by our rich range of unique products, all of which promotes healthy living among individuals and the society.”

Oluwasegunfunmi also said the yuletide season “is for sharing and giving, that is why Nutricima is here to show love and appreciate the Down Syndrome Foundation, its children and all the good work that you do. Our products enhance lives and overall family nutrition and so we hereby offer them with love.”   

The End of Year Party for the children was held at Down Syndrome Foundation Lagos Chapter, Masha, Surulere, Lagos. It was attended by the Barr. Olayinka Oladunjoye, the Honourable Commissioner of Education Lagos State, represented by Mrs Yekini Oluyemisi, Deputy Director, Lagos State Universal Board of Education (SUBEB); Mr Funsho Jacobs, Integrated Marketing Communication Manager and Lynda Akaegbu, Sponsorship and Event Manager, Nutricima; Mr. Godfrey Osakwe, member of DSFN; Mrs Rosemary Madu, PR Consultant to Down Syndrome Foundation including parents and relatives of the children.
