A man in Lagos has been arrested by the police after reports that he blinded a married woman in one eye.

35-year old Arinze Kingsley is said to have  assaulted one Amaka Ohanwe because she refused to have sex with him.

The suspect reportedly waylaid Mrs. Ohanwe at a beauty salon and injured her so severely that she has become partially blind.

Amaka was seriously injured in her right eye when she was allegedly beaten up by Kingsley at a beauty salon.

The Apapa General Hospital is said to have confirmed the injury and Arinze has been charged before a Magistrate court in the Apapa area of the state after which he was remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons.

The victim insisted that she and Kingsley were only friends and not lovers as suggested. She also said that she had started avoiding the suspect when he started demanding for sex from her despite knowing that she was married with 2 children.

She said:

“He waited for me outside the salon. When he saw me, he started abusing me after I refused his advances. I replied him and he hit my eye and threw me on the floor. He started  hitting his head on my eyes until I started bleeding.”

Kingsley admitted that he had attacked Amaka and that he wanted to settle the matter out of court but she had refused. The case has been adjourned to March 24.
