In a competitive voting process which lasted for weeks, readers were given an opportunity to choose their YNaija Person of the Year 2012 from a list of nominees carefully selected by our panel of Editors.

Competing with a wide-range of achievers like himself, D’banj, popularly known as the Kokomaster, was chosen as the Peoples’ Choice for the YNaija Person of the Year 2012.

D’banj, who joined the G.O.O.D Music crew owned by Grammy Award winning artiste, Kanye West, after an acrimonious split from his former partner, Don Jazzy, has gone on to achieve several astounding feats with sold out shows, club-banging music singles and international recognition.

The voting process proper opened at noon on December 6 and closed on December 30.
