“Congratulations Bisola on winning the 2017 edition of…” | See our top 10 quotes from the past week

Let’s not even lie, a whole country is trying to get things set for the finale of Big Brother Nigeria and we have been for a whole week. It’s so hard to think anything else happened this past week.

But it did and we kept tabs on things said that you must remember as always.

Enjoy our top 10 quotes below:

“Nigerians have seen that the present ruling party has nothing to offer them except to tell lies. They claim they are fighting corruption, but how many APC former governors have been arraigned? Nobody is against the government fighting corruption, but it must be fought with sincerity. Even when an APC former governor is indicted by a judicial commission of inquiry, they fail to prosecute such a person.”

Governor Nyesom Wike said Nigerians have finally become tired of the APC administration in Nigeria.

“And the issue of corruption itself is not something that can be eliminated completely. What you can do is to reduce it to the barest minimum, to a level that is almost seen as non-existent. To eliminate it will amount to eliminating the totality of the human race.”

-Speaker, Yakubu Dogara is not saying corruption cannot be eliminated ever, is he?

“How does the party spokesman know what creates enemy for the President? Did the President complain that enemies are being created for him? The man who spoke is an APC official. I’m not an APC member. I’m not an appointee of the APC. Let him face the work of his party while I face my work.”

Professor Itse Sagay threw the biggest shade this week in our opinion. He said the above in response to statements made by the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi.

“Congratulations Bisola on winning the 2017 edition of …”

– IkennaRonald Nzimora and many other Nigerians made extremely wild predictions about tonight’s finale of the #BigBrotherNaija show. You must read them all here.

“If I had to do it all again, baby it will be with you?? happy birthday, my king. Thanks for always being selfless, you are forever ready to share your knowledge with anyone. God bless and protect you always BOLARINDE?. I love you boo.”

Funke Akindele‘s very mushy message to her new husband, JJC Skills on his birthday caught all of our attentions.

“I had a great meeting with her, I really liked her. She said the same thing to me, we had a great meeting and the press doesn’t get it.”

-President Donald Trump revisited his meeting with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel via his Twitter last week. You’ll need to read it all to avoid getting the wrong ideas.

“Governor Wike has done more work and projects in the last two years than the Federal Government. That is my considered opinion.”

-Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio said about the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike. It sounded like shade to the Federal Government till we read the rest of what he said and found there are other recipients of his shade!

“Beware of fake news. There’s a write up circulating on WhatsApp about oil wells purportedly from me. I never wrote such. It is fake news.”

-Senator Murray-Bruce. Maybe this is was his just trying to get the most popular phrase of 2017 to use or maybe it was real, we don’t know. All we know is that our Legislative Bloggers have not seen this WhatsApp message he spoke of.

“There is no way fornication will be so rampant and God will not send a disease that cannot be cured.”

– Governor AbdulAziz Yari totally rocked this week’s edition of “lame things Nigerian Governors said”, if ever there were a column called that. This was his explanation for the current outbreak of meningitis that began in his State, Zamfara.

“This is exactly what the Governor said. But because some people are out there to ridicule him at the slightest opportunity and make a mountain out of a molehill with a view to tarnishing his rising reputation, the innocuous statement was misinterpreted and quoted out of context for reasons best known to the authors.

And then to add insult to injury, his press people decided to release a statement that not only defended the first, but went on to call Nigerians out” for trying to ridicule him”.

What a wawu!
