In an Instagram post published today, Charles Okpaleke (Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story) revealed that he has obtained the rights to portray the roughneck life of Shina Rambo and his criminal footprint.
Rambo ruled the 90’s as a robbery kingpin and serial killer, terrorising Southwest Nigeria and his notorious exploits is cemented in the annals of Nigerian history. Now an evangelist, Rambo’s story is readily film fodder, and catnip for Okpaleke who is currently spinning a universe out of his earlier films like the aforementioned action drama Rattlesnake and femme fatale horror Nneka the Pretty Serpent, called the Play Universe.
While nothing has been said about the casting and director, Okpaleke has said that this biopic will be action-packed. We expecting nothing less. 2021 is already shaping to be another prolific bout for the filmmaker who announced a while ago that he’s working on his first post-remake/sequel original The Six. Fingers crossed on that too. Also, here’s a picture of Shina Rambo to stare at:
When Bernard Dayo isn’t writing about pop culture, he’s watching horror movies and reading comics and trying to pretend his addiction to Netflix isn’t a serious condition.
