Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress restated his promise to end insecurity, if elected President in the February election.

Buhari spoke at a rally held at Emmaus House, Awka, where he addressed the people of Anambra State as part of a national campaign tour, on Saturday, January 10.

While speaking, he said: “It is clear to see that security is of paramount importance to our economy. We have laid clear plans to solve our security issues.”

After a one-minute-silence was observed for bomb blast victims, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, addressed the rally. He refuted insinuation that Buhari planned to Islamize the nation if he becomes president.

He said: “Buhari was once a military general and Head of State. He had decree and power. If he didn’t do it then, is it now that we are in a democracy that he will Islamise Nigeria?”

Buhari’s entourage was made up of Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi; the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; former Abia State Governor, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu; and former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Segun Oni, had earlier visited the Eze Uzu of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu.
