Buhari receives briefing from Emefiele, signs treaty

Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday briefed President Muhammadu Buhari inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This is first briefing by the apex bank governor after Buhari returned to the country on Friday, following his 49-day medical vacation in London, United Kingdom.

Emefiele was expected to have briefed Buhari on development in the sector while he was away.

The President has also signed instrument of ratification of the treaty on the establishment of the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.

Buhari signed the treaty on Tuesday just a day after resuming work.

The treaty is among the governments of Republic of Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.
