Entrepreneur and ICT expert, Gbenga Sesan has been invited for questioning by the Department of State Security Services over some comments he recently made on Twitter.
Mr. Sesan, in a series of tweets, encouraged attendees at the upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF) to make a case for the over 200 girls who were recently abducted by Boko Haram militants and not allow the issue to be overshadowed by other events at the forum.
He said:
If ALL #Chibok girls are not home by the morning of May 7, a #BringBackOurGirls hashtag hijack during #WEFAfrica would bring some attention.

8. As a stakeholder in the @wef process, I call on organizers of #WEFAfrica to give Nigeria time to focus on fixing this present darkness.

If you have a pass to attend #WEFAfrica, that IV could (depending on your personal choice) become a campaign tool to help #BringBackOurGirls
— #BringBackOurGirls (@gbengasesan) May 3, 2014
If you choose to stay away from #WEFAfrica, please don’t do so quietly. Let the world know that you’re doing this to help #BringBackOurGirls

If you choose to attend #WEFAfrica, please use your presence to keep media spotlight on the issues to #BringBackOurGirls. Every little helps

If you have a picture of any of the missing girls, feel free to print and hold to your face when #WEFAfrica’s roaming camera comes your way
— #BringBackOurGirls (@gbengasesan) May 3, 2014
If you can host a side press conference at the venue of #WEFAfrica, to talk about #BringBackOurGirls, you’d be doing Nigeria a HUGE favour.
— #BringBackOurGirls (@gbengasesan) May 3, 2014
When you ask a question at #WEFAfrica, spare last 5 seconds to say “We ask that the Government of Nigeria work harder to #BringBackOurGirls”
