Nigerian troops rescue 180 captives from Boko Haram (PHOTOS)

Nigerian troops have rescued 180 people who were held hostage by Boko Haram insurgents at Giltimari and Baale villages in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno state.

The troops of 7 Division Garrison and 112 Battalion, assisted by some Civilian JTF, dislodged the insurgents from Menari, Bulamari, Zangebe, Maafa, Mijigine, Baale and Kaltaram villages in Mafa Local Government Area.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, released a statement to this effect on Wednesday evening.

“During the operations, they killed 5 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 180 persons and their cattle held hostages by the terrorists at Giltimari and Baale.”
