Boko Haram members – and more, in today’s news round-up with Cheta Nwanze

Boko-Haram-23

Not a few Lagosians were stuck in a spot of traffic on Friday because a few khaki boys, or area boys, depending on who you listen to, decided to resort to some self help. One of them was knocked over by a BRT bus, and his compadres proceeded to exact a vengeance that left Nigeria’s, sorry, Africa’s largest economy ground to a halt. Never mind, they are apparently #BokoHaram members.

Another set of #BokoHaram members keeping our economy moving slowly will be those tanker drivers who create this major snafu on the Apapa expressway. But never mind, it will appear that they will stop being members soon. Big Fash has come out with the big stick and has told them that they have a week to mend their ways. One wonders whether this will go the way of the ultimatum on power issued 94 days ago now.

But then let’s ask ourselves an uncomfortable question: who is the real #BokoHaram? Could it be those who kidnapped those girls three moons ago now? Or could it be those who let them get away with it by deliberately not letting security cameras work? Or could it be those who provide recruits to #BokoHaram by keeping primary schools locked up for a gestation period? I leave that for you to think about.

Bits and Bobs

Seeing that he cannot reason with the lawmakers, the Bigot has taken the matter to the Almighty.

The National Jaw-jaw is increasingly becoming a waste of time, and moolah, so let’s just enjoy the entertainment make e for no loss.

The immigration scam from a few months back will finally see the inside of a court. Expect a verdict in 60 years.

Despite owning 2 mansions in Nigeria, Frank ‘Fizzy’ Onyeachonam, of ‘The Australian Lottery’, will reside as a guest of Elizabeth Regina for 8 years.

Truth is, the real mission of the ‘national jaw jaw’ is becoming quite obvious to not a few people. An excuse to help some of our elderly folks with some healthy dose of ‘pension’. Their views on matters arising in the country are sort of comical, their suggestion, utterly ridiculous (which would never be considered by d prez and his cronies anyway), and at the end of the day (after fighting for food) they get paid. What a shame. Instead of seriously brokering for the current states to have RESOURCE CONTROL (which will help our redundant sectors), they are entertaining the hopes of creating new states which would be run on the already oversaturated crude. I bet if every state is allowed its resource control, while Aba state would key in on its commercial status to generate revenue, and Kainji State, probably its dam, others like Etiti state, Ijebu state, Amana state, Katagum state etc, what would be their driving force? Talk about greed. I bet the real reason some clowns are pushing for this cause is not the development of these regions, its pure and unadulterated greed. ‘My own share of the ‘national cake’.

Sometimes names do matter. For example, that’s probably why the #bringbackourgirls online campaign isn’t seeing much traction with the FG. If it had been named #bringbackourgirlsornovotein2015 I suspect GEJ would have found it less convenient to do nothing for three weeks.

@Tosin and Oria: Did you just write “….into the same trap SEVERALLY”?…. Hmm…
