Boko Haram burns down village few kilometres from Chibok

Local residents on Wednesday said terrorist group, Boko Haram has burnt down Goptari village, a few kilometres from Chibok village where over 200 girls were abducted, AFP reports.

According to the news network, the terrorists raided the village for food supplies and livestock.

A resident of Kautikeri village, Samson Bulus said, “They attacked the village around 8:00 pm (1900GMT), firing heavy guns which made people flee into the bush.

“The Boko Haram raiders looted homes and shops, taking along food supplies and livestock before burning the entire village,” he said.

Another resident, Luka Damina said the gunmen overpowered troops in Chibok.

“The Boko Haram fighters overpowered the soldiers and seized a van with a machine gun mounted on the deck from the soldiers,” he said.
