How 17 Boko Haram insurgents surrendered to Civilian JTF

17 Boko Haram insurgents have been arrested by members of the Civilian JTF in Borno State.

Their capture was made known in a statement released on Wednesday, by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman.

He disclosed that the insurgents were apprehended along Njaba Road, South of Damboa, by a Civilian JTF patrol team, led by Sarkin Yaki Gwoza.

The arrested insurgents reportedly confessed that they were forced to join the terrorist sect.

Usman however, noted that after being screened by the military, it was discovered that the 17 insurgents were hardened members of the Boko Haram who were trying to infiltrate the society.

He also said some other insurgents had attacked Kutuva village – where they killed four persons and abducted four women before the 17 insurgents were arrested.
