Bobrisky, Naij.com’s new format and everything else on Uncensored this week

Ifeoma Areh of Wildflower PR & Company hosted Uncensored this week while Chude Jideonwo’s away (again) – she is joined by Lekan Olanrewaju and Roqeebah Olaoniye.

They talk about the rise and rise of Bobrisky, the controversy over his participation in the New Media and Governance Conference in Abuja, Naij.com’s online media disruption, arrest of NaijaGistLive co-founder and everything that is important in the Nigerian film and media industry.

“I don’t see Bobrisky as the symbol for gay people or transgenders in Nigeria… he’s not interested in representing anybody. He just wants to sell his [bleaching] cream,” says Lekan Olanrewaju about Bobrisky inclusion on the EiE new media conference panel. “I don’t believe he should have been on that panel. He is not interested in teaching. He is just doing it to get attention. I don’t believe he uses social media in anyway that is unconventional – he himself might be unconventional, what he sells might be unconventional, but his use of social media is not.”
