Billionaire, Arthur Eze, on Monday caused a stir on social media following a statement released by his media consultant, Oliver Okpala.
Stressing on projects like the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the Second Niger Bridge, he said that the Igbos should be eternally grateful to the President for what he described as a massive provision of infrastructural facilities in the South-East geopolitical zone.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter, many Igbos have reacted to the statement, describing it as ignorant.

Many also pointed out that the businessman must have been paid off by the president to spew such an ‘ignorant statement’.
Ndiigbo should stop taking Arthur Eze serious.
Baba is licking Northern politicians ass to maintain his contracts and continue milking south east dry. https://t.co/9kyzL9YFI4— Chinonyelum (@engrnolly) July 6, 2020
In Igbo land, we do have respect for elders, culture and tradition. But, Arthur Eze, has proven once again that he's a DISGRACE to Ndigbo. That's the least I can say

Arthur Eze is beginning to sound backwards, the northern Nigeria is using money they suppose use to defeat Boko Haram to give some Igbo people to betray their people..@AfamDeluxo does it mean this people don't know that this present Igbo generation can not be bought with money? https://t.co/5GNEMMlcYL

One person can’t speak for a tribe
The caption should be “Arthur Eze owes Buhari eternal gratitude “ shikena

For those against Arthur, they stressed that an airport and a bridge is not worth for an entire tribe to forever grateful to Buhari as they expressed that the president was elected for office to be responsible for the provision of infrastructures that better the lives of the citizens.

I'm with Arthur Eze though am not in support of Buhari administration, this is because Arthur is the man of the people.

While many Igbo berated him for such a statement, some other Nigerians applauded him and urged critics to respect his freedom of expression even as they shared that Arthur, in the past has been a huge advocate for the interests of Igbo in Nigeria.
Their opinions were however countered by others who held that his statement was derogatory on the ethnic group.
