Last week as The Big Brother Naija show officially kicked off, both fans and Housemate were met with an interesting twist from Big Brother. Big Brother announced that he had planted two moles in the house, illegitimate Housemates who will have the opportunity to be legitimate competitors if the rest of the Housemates collectively fail to identify the wild cards within the week.
One week later, to no one’s surprise, the Housemates failed to identify the wildcards. When asked, majority of the Housemates alluded to Liquorose and Jaypaul as the moles, so you can only imagine their surprise when Ebuka revealed during the Live show, that the moles were Maria and Pere.
At that point, the rest of the Housemates had no choice but to give it up the wildcards who had done an exceptional job in selling their selves as real contestants. But beneath the applauds and cheers, its a wonder what their thoughts would have been.
Seeing how well Maria and Pere played the game, the Housemates must be feeling a bit uneasy. First of all, they put Liquorose and Jaypaul on the spot, by guessing that they were the moles which inadvertently tells the pair that the rest of the Housemates simply don’t trust them.
Jaypaul doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who might take it personal, but for Liquorose who has shown some emotions on the show, its hard to say what she would make of their guess. She may just take it as one of those things. Or she may deduce that the Housemates have been talking about her behind her back, which in reality they have.
For Maria and Pere, it really is a no brainer, any trust anyone had for them has gone out the window. The Housemates must be thinking; ‘who plays a mole that perfectly?’ It’s going to be hard for anyone to trust anything that comes out their mouth, and its not far fetched to say that they have become easy targets to nominate during Monday nominations.
For Big Brother Naija shine your eyes season, Big Brother has brought us to a dramatically wonderful start, even though the Housemates are slow to spice things up.
