Swiss wonder midfielder, Granit Xhaka is officially an Arsenal FC Player

Last week Saturday, it was revealed that Arsenal had completed the signing of Swiss International, Granit Xhaka after pictures leaked of him at the club’s London training ground.

Arsenal however kept mute on the reports at the weekend.

The English Premier League club has now officially confirmed the signing of the midfielder from German club, Borussia Monchengladbach for a deal reported to be up to £33.1 million.

According to Arsène Wenger, who spoke to the club’s website, “Granit Xhaka is an exciting young player, already with good Champions League and Bundesliga experience.

“We have been watching him for a long time now and he is a player who will add quality to our squad. We wish Granit a good Euro 2016 with Switzerland and look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal ahead of next season.”

Although Xhaka is the first summer signing of the Gunners, he is the second player to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in under six months, following Egyptian midfielder, Mohamed Elneny‘s January move from Xhaka’s once former club- Basel.

This comes as a great news for Arsenal fans as the club signed no outfield player last summer.

They will also be happy they have signed a reinforcement in the middle of the park as the club should be bidding goodbye to Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky.

Arsenal are reportedly still in talks with Bolton over the signing of young defender Rob Holding.

A purported bid of £750,000 was rejected by the club recently relegated to League One, but the player is expected to push for a move if another bid is denied once more.
