According to Ali Modu Sheriff, APC is not ‘owned by Nigerians’

The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, on Friday, inadvertently questioned the legitimacy of the All Progressives Congress and other political parties in Nigeria.

According to Sheriff, “PDP is the only party that belongs to Nigerians and owned by Nigerians.”

Sheriff, who is also vying for the post of national chairman of the party, said this in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, during the National Convention of the party.

“There is no sole owner of PDP. PDP is for you, PDP is for our brothers in the village, PDP is for the elders in Abuja, PDP is for everybody. Therefore, we will carry everyone along.”

Speaking on aggrieved members of the party, the PDP chairman said: “Anybody that is aggrieved, we will work towards getting our members on one page.

“We want a united house. In party politics, it is natural that all views must not be the same. As much as possible, we try to unite all views for everyone to have a sense of belonging, “he said.
