The Oba of Benin has advise the people of Edo state shun Godfatherism and concensus candidate. Remember some days ago, Edo APC celebrated Ize-Iyamu being the concensus candidate of APC, chosen by a 'Godfather' OshiomOLE. pic.twitter.com/W559lBup3w

Following his call asking politicians to put an end to ‘Godfatherism’, many Nigerians have shared that the Oba was right on point as they pointed out that the political party, APC, has for long, with the influence of some of her notable members tried to make Edo State into how they have made Lagos.
I think with the position of the Oba of Benin recently in the politics of Edo state.i feel the tide is gradually turning in favour of Obaseki.

While others stressed that the idea of Godfatherism will not be over, as that can also be seen in other parts of the country. Theses one shared that politicians will always have those that they look up to and those that they will always revere.
Oba of Benin should know that Godfathers can never be eradicated from Nigeria politics, The only prayer we should pray is to have ones with conscience and little empathy for the masses. If one godfather is dethroned, another will be pronounced

Am not in support of Oshiomhole rascality, but I thought traditional rulers are suppose to be non partisan.
Pray what happens to Sanusi shouldn't happen to the "Oba of Benin" now that he is beginning to take sides indirectly— Prince Olim (@PrinnyOlim) June 19, 2020
With just this statement from the Oba of Benin; Obaseki having fighting against godfatherism, has won in any party he finds himself…

A few other people shared that the Oba’s statement may create issues for him especially with the desperate nature of politicians. This opinion was silenced by many from Edo State who reiterated that the Oba remains one of the most revered and powerful monarchs in the country. However, the Oba’s statement has been seconded by a larger number of people, both from Edo State and outside the state.
