Alhassan attends FEC meeting in crutches – Here’s why

Ailing Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, on Wednesday, came to the federal executive council in crutches.

Alhassan was said to have had a knee surgery in the United States and is now recuperating.

She was helped into the meeting venue at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, by her security aide. Her crutches were taken away by the aide after she took her seat. However, it was returned to her after the meeting ended to enable her leave.

The FEC meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The  Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, had on June 8 announced that 3 ministers were indisposed at the time, including the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who he said “is down with back pain,” Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibril, and Alhassan.
