Akapbio’s ‘4 Husbands’ response to allegations has got Nigerians talking

God'swill Akpabio

Former Akwa Ibom State governor and minister of the Niger Delta Development Commission is currently in a heated trend on social media, following an allegation against him by the past immediate MD of the commission, Joi Nunieh. According to Joi, Akpabio is a mastermind to many of the corruption that goes on in the NDDC.

Speaking to Newsmen over the alleged financial recklessness and misappropriation of N40billion by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NDDC, between October 2019 and May this year Joi pointed out that no payment was made by the NDDC under her watch without the knowledge of Akpabio stressing only N8billion was expended by the agency from  October 29, 2019 to May 31, 2020, when she held the position, contrary to the figure being bandied around.

Reacting to the allegations against him, Akpabio stressed that Joi’s character should be checked as he hints that her ‘temperament’ needs to be treated. He however, failed to address the issue as it concerns him.

The former governor’s reaction has gotten the attention of many Nigerians who took to Twitter to talk about both the allegation and corruption in this government administration as they also addressed Akpabio’s response.

While many attacked the minister for his address on the allegations against him, a few others went further to compare the current government administration with the former as they arrested that, former President Goodluck Jonathan is to blame for the high case of corruption in Nigeria.

Other Twitter users called for a total scrap of the sect as they pointed out that the ever-rising corruption with the NDDC  has nothing to do with the current or former government, calling for a total dissolving of the NDDC.

While many encouraged Joi for her bravery in coming out against the minister, a few expressed that she should be protected as she had earlier reported that the minister had threatened her in the past.
