Why Nigerian Airforce fighter jet crashed in Yola

A Nigerian Airforce fighter jet crashed on Saturday, around Hong, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The pilot of the aircraft lost his life in the crash, says the Airforce.

According to the Director of Public relations of the Nigerian Airforce, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, the fighter jet crashed due to bad weather while returning to the base from an interdicted mission.

The Airforce would also shut down insinuations that the fighter jet may have been under enemy fire.

In spite of already admitting that the jet crashed due to bad weather, the Airforce’s statement on the crash said: “Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal SB Abubakar has reportedly set up an investigation panel to unravel the remote and immediate causers) of the accident.”
