Your agitation can’t be achieved through violence, Ribadu tells Biafra agitators

Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has called on those clamoring for Biafra republic to be patient with the government.

He said this while speaking at the sideline of the 11th Convocation ceremony of Nnamdi Azikiwe University  where he delivered a lecture in Awka.

He said the agitators cannot achieve their aims through violence, while stating that their reasons were justifiable.

Ribadu said the alleged injustices being meted on them are not peculiar to the South-east.

“I believe this country has a future and if we stay together it will be better for all of us. All of us have our problems and challenges, including me.

“There may be issues of injustices here and there, but that does not necessarily call for the destruction of my own country. Let’s stay together and persevere, let us endure, collectively we can surmount the challenges one day.

“Those things we are going through today are not going to be permanent. I want the people to understand that the challenges we are going through are just temporal.”
