Adele is set to roll in £90million deep for Sony music deal

Adele is reportedly close to inking a £90million ($130 million) contract with Sony Music which would see her bag the biggest record deal ever given to a British musician, The Sun reports.

The contract will be the largest ever for a female singer, surpassing Whitney Houston’s $100 million signing with Arista Records in 2001.

Although Sony has denied any such deal in place but according to the British newspaper who spoke to a Sony insider, it has already secured the singer for its Columbia Records label.

The deal is purportedly set to be announced in few weeks.

The 28-year-old singer is already worth £85million, according to this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.

This is as a result of her 2015 album- 25 which sold 17.4 million units in 2015, making her the world’s No. 1 seller.

Adele’s contract with XL Recordings, an independent English label recently expired and this allowed Sony to swoop in with an offer due to their association with the singer through Columbia- who she signed a distribution deal with in 2009 for distribution in the US after the 2008 release of her debut album, 19,

The singer on Sunday night claimed 5 awards at the Billboard Music awards and also premiered her music video for Send my love (To Your Lover) off her 3rd album, 25.
