It will take another lie for the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to escape this one from the organise Labour Unions in the state over the non-payment of salaries.

The Governor in recent times has denied owning any workers in the state – describing those on strike as “political civil servants”.

Yesterday’s statement by the state head of service that the late director in the state that committed suicide Edward Soje was last paid in December 2016 was another exposé to the lies of Yahaya Bello.

But it seems labour won’t have any of that again, the Kogi state NLC and TUC in a joint statement yesterday October 22, 2017, said “Workers are walking the streets of Lokoja like beggars because their salaries and allowances have not been paid for a period of three to twenty-two months by the government”.

The NLC chairman called on President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the aid of workers in Kogi by sending foods, drugs and other relief materials to them through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

He also pleaded with the presidency to set up a fact-finding committee to come and ascertain the true situation of things with workers in the state.
