The commissioner said Ndubuisi’s mother, Ifeoma, had reported the disappearance of her son on March 24, 2017, after which operatives placed the suspect’s hotel and house under surveillance.

He was reportedly arrested when he attempted to escape to Lagos, as the police rescued the victim.

The suspect admitted to taking Ndubuisi to his hotel room, but denied having sex with him.

He said, “I am a businessman. I come to Aba to buy goods, which I take to Lagos for sale. I do come to Aba with my son, who is 15-year-old. It was my son that brought the boy (Ndubuisi) to our room.

“He told me that the boy was driven away by his mother after a quarrel, and since it was late in the night, I allowed the boy to sleep with us.”
